System requirements - HBSMR v6

The following are minimum system requirements for running the HBSMR v6 application and associated GIS software:

• A desktop PC or laptop with sufficient RAM to run the desired GIS system (8GB or higher is recommended) OR an application server(s) with sufficient RAM and resources to support the required number of users.
• At least 1GB free disk space to install and run the application. The main application files may be on the local hard drive of each client PC or in a shared folder on a network drive. Disk space required for mapping data sets, associated images and documents, etc. is likely to be considerably more.
• 1280 x 960 pixels or higher resolution monitor. Dual high-resolution screens are recommended.
• 100Mbps or better network for thick-client installations. Thin-client installations may perform acceptably on lesser connections, including broadband.
• Windows 10 or 11 operating system on the PC, OR Windows Server 2016 or later on an application server. 32-bit or 64-bit are acceptable, the latter recommended.
• Microsoft Access as part of 64-bit Office 2016 / 2019 / 2021 / 365. The same version (including service packs) should be installed on all clients. Runtime Access may be used for non-administrative users.
• SQL Server 2016 or later, with connectivity from the PCs and/or application server(s).
• ODBC Driver 17 (minimum 17.10.4.1) or 18 (minimum 18.2.1.1). The recent versions are required to ensure correct handling of SQL datetime2 fields.
